in
Huddersfield, artists developed tailor-made consultation
processes to involve residents in selecting colour palettes for
the re-painting of 134 houses in Brackenhall estate and the
re-painting of two 16-storey blocks of flats in Berry Brow.
The benefits for our commissioner, Kirklees Neighbourhood
Housing, were distinctive and well-designed schemes and high
levels of resident involvement and public satisfaction with the
results. |

while Moorside estate in Dewsbury was being transformed into a
Home Zone, an artist worked with residents to develop a design
theme which ran throughout the scheme, and decorative
streetscape features such as paving and signage. The artists'
long-term involvement gave housing officers, landscape
architects and highways engineers a vehicle for communicating
with the community during a time of great change, as well as
ensuring quality design outcomes. |

to help kick-start
a new initiative at Oakwell Hall Country Park, an artist was
appointed to run a creative consultation programme and help
staff develop ideas for a new Faith Garden and education trail.
The focus on faith meant that it was important to engage
different stakeholder groups; creative activities provided an
accessible and inclusive way of
doing this. |
