Loca provides expertise, advice and practical support to help local voluntary organisations and community groups develop their own creative ventures.  Samba and singing, events and festivals, book publishing, environmental art, community film, children's workshops, adult crafts sessions, family learning, community gardens, public art ...  We have supported many groups to develop and run their own successful projects.   To help the many amateur/voluntary arts groups in North Kirklees stay in touch with each other's activities and the opportunities available to them, we publish a regular newsletter listing events and productions, training and funding.     Our work over 10 years from our base at Redbrick Mill has helped to stimulate and strengthen connections within the local arts community and between artists and creative practitioners in North Kirklees.  Project and work opportunities, promotion and profile, exhibitions and showcases, networks and collaborations, alliances and friendships, creative sparks ...     If you are a community group wanting help with a project idea, or a local artist or arts group that wants to get connected, just get in touch.
